The Friends of Leesville Main Street will host their annual Witch Way to Main on October 28th from 5-8pm. Merchants, civic organizations, and churches will set up booths along Third Street and pass out goodies. It was announced during the City Council meeting on October 9, 2023 that neighborhood Trick or Treating would be held on Tuesday, October 31st in the City of Leesville. Stacie Warden, who lives at 801 Dennis Avenue, will have candy if anyone wants to stop by. Her home was selected as the October winner of the Mayor’s Women’s Commission’s Beautification award and is surrounded on two sides with a multitude of spooky Halloween decorations. She’s done an outstanding job and would really enjoy sharing the experience with any Trick-or-Treaters who are brave enough to come by. The Circle, Byrd Regional Chapter was the commercial winner. The club is sponsored by Byrd Regional Hospital and offers social opportunities for people age 50 and older. Some of the activities include short day trips, coffee talk, exercises, line dancing, games and more. For more information on the group, call Lisa at 337-392-0635. The Mayor’s Women’s Commission held their annual Scarecrow contest in downtown Leesville. There are some great entries located on the historic courthouse lawn and at various businesses downtown. Find your favorite for a one-of-a-kind photo opportunity.
