Our office hours are Monday through Friday, from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM. For water service issues after business hours, please contact Public Works at 337-239-2995. Note that a $50 after-hours fee applies for any services on the customer's side of the meter when rendered outside regular hours.

WATER and SEWER RATES

Water rates are annually adjusted based on the United States Consumer Price Index (CPI) and require City Council approval before implementation.

Safe Drinking Water Fee

An additional $12.00 annually ($1.00 per month) is included in the water bill.

Other Charges

  • After-Hours Services: A $50 fee is applied for any service, including turn-ons and reconnections, conducted outside standard business hours (evenings, weekends, holidays).
  • Meter Re-Reads: A re-read is conducted only when charges exceed the customer’s typical usage by $50. A $10 fee applies for customer-requested re-reads.

Utility Billing Deadlines

  • Bills are mailed by the last working day of the month. Non-receipt does not exempt customers from paying on time.
  • Payment is due by the 15th of each month.
  • A 10% penalty is applied on the 16th to unpaid balances.
  • No extensions are granted after the 19th.
  • On the 20th, unpaid accounts incur a $35 late fee, and service disconnection may occur.
  • Accounts unpaid 30 days post-shut-off are permanently closed, with the deposit applied to the balance. Remaining funds or a final statement will be mailed to the account holder. Reactivation requires full payment of outstanding charges plus a new deposit.

Sign up for free email or text reminders for upcoming due dates. Notifications are sent on the 12th of each month, even if your bill has already been paid.

Start or Modify Your Service

New Service

To begin new service, the responsible party must bring the following documents to Leesville City Hall:

  • Completed New Customer Application (PDF)
  • Deposit/Service Fee of $110 for residential customers inside the city limits or $125 for residential customers outside the city limits
  • Legal form of identification (i.e. driver's license or military ID)
  • Signed lease agreement with dates of residency (if renting) OR proof of purchase i.e. bill of sale, cash deed warranty, or property tax notice, etc. if you own the home.
  • 911 Permit Number - you can get this by calling the 911 Office at 337-238-9911.
  • All former delinquent balances must be paid in order to start a new water service.
  • Once completed, either bring all required documents to Leesville City Hall or email all the documents to waterdept@LeesvilleLA.gov. Once received, the clerk will call you to arrange payment.

Transfer Service to a New Address

To transfer your service, the customer must bring the following documents to the City Municipal building at 508 South 5th St.:

  • Completed Water Service Transfer Form (PDF)
  • Legal form of identification (i.e. driver's license or military ID)
  • A signed lease agreement for the new location, with dates of residency (if renting) OR proof of purchase (i.e. bill of sale, cash deed warranty, or property tax notice, etc.) if you own the new home.
  • 911 Permit Number for the new location - you can get this by calling the 911 Office at 337-238-9911.
  • All unpaid balances must be paid before or at the time of the transfer request.
  • Once completed, either bring all required documents to Leesville City Hall or email all the documents to waterdept@LeesvilleLA.gov. Once received, the clerk will call you to arrange payment. 

Close an Account

It is the account holder's responsibility to notify the city when you wish service to be discontinued. If you fail to discontinue service, you will continue to be responsible for any/all charges accrued, even if you move out. Retroactive requests to discontinue service will not be honored.

To terminate your service, the customer must bring the following documents to the City Municipal building at 508 South 5th St.:

  • Completed Water Service Turn-Off Form (PDF)
  • Legal form of identification (i.e. driver's license or military ID)
  • Forwarding address so your deposit can be returned.
  • Once completed, either bring all required documents to Leesville City Hall or email all the documents to waterdept@LeesvilleLA.gov. Once received, the clerk will call you to arrange payment.

2024 Lead Service Line Inventory

2024 Water System Grade

Pursuant to Act 98 of the 2021 Regular Legislative Session, the LDH-OPH adopted a letter grade schedule for community water systems to provide an accountability process to support drinking water infrastructure sustainability for the citizens of Louisiana. (Updated in May)
