Mayor Rick Allen has proclaimed that from this day forward, February 22nd should be known as Reverend M.C. Green Day in the City of Leesville. 
Reverend Green passed from this life on that date. He was 92 years of age and was a testament to faithfulness, perseverance, and an unshakable trust in God.
He answered the call to ministry at age 17 and for over 75 years he preached the gospel with passion and unwavering conviction. His ministry took him around the world, but he eventually settled in Leesville where he spent 43 years pastoring at the First United Pentecostal Church of Leesville.
