Mayor Rick Allen and City Council members recognized Rosie Hackett for heroism during the City Council meeting yesterday. While working at the Leesville Walmart on December 10, 2024, Ms. Hackett discovered an unconscious woman who had stopped breathing. Maintaining her composure despite the urgency of the situation, she ran to the Service Desk and told them to call 911, then returned and performed CPR until the ambulance arrived to take control. Mayor Allen praised Ms. Hackett for her rapid and entirely appropriate response which saved the life of a fellow citizen.
