Mayor Rick Allen has proclaimed that from this day forward, February 22nd shall always be known as Reverend M.C. Green Day in the City of Leesville. 
Reverend McClinton Green passed from this life on that date. At his death, he was 92 years of age. Through the many years of his life his guidance served as a testament for success through faithfulness, perseverance, and an unshakable trust in God.
He first answered the call to ministry at age 17 and for more than 75 years he preached the gospel with passion and unwavering conviction. His ministry took him around the world, but he eventually settled in Leesville. Many here recall, with great fondness, the 43 years he devoted to pastoring his flock at the First United Pentecostal Church of Leesville and beyond its membership to the surrounding community.
