Vernon Parish Library

Located in Leesville, the Main Branch of the Vernon Parish Library is housed in a 20,000 square foot facility and contains more than 106,000 volumes. 

It is a Federal Repository and offers access to federal documents, as well as university libraries, genealogical research archives and much more.  

A meeting room with seating for 100 is available.

Vernon Parish enjoys an excellent parish-supported public library system. Located in Leesville, the Parish Library is housed in an ultra-modern 20,000 square foot facility completed in the spring of 1995, and contains over 106,000 volumes. Special features include:
  • Access to internet and holdings of university libraries throughout the state
  • CD-ROM reference
  • Children’s wing
  • Large collection of genealogy research items and local archives
  • Meeting room with seating for 100 people
  • Public access to federal documents
  • State Library On-Line catalog and LOUIS

We are open until 8 p.m. Monday through Thursday. Friday and Saturday 9:00 a.m. - 5:30 p.m.
    The Parish Library has two branches: the Dunbar branch on Nona Street is located in the Martin Luther King Jr. Community Center and the Pitkin branch. A Bookmobile service is available throughout the parish and audio/visual materials are available. The library is also a Federal Depository.
