The Historic District Commission of the City of Leesville renders the decisions concerning the approval or disapproval of changes of property in the Historic District.

Permit Information

Permit applications and pertinent information may be obtained from the City Clerk's office, located inside Leesville City Hall at 508 South 5th St.

Permit applications involving minor repairs, painting, or signs must be submitted to the clerk at least seven days prior to the date of the following Historic District Commission meeting. Applications involving new construction, extensive renovation, repair of an existing structure, or demolition must be submitted 35 days in advance of the meeting. Meetings are held on the first Tuesday of each month, excluding December, at 3:00 P.M., in the meeting room at Leesville City Hall.

In addition to applying for a permit (Certificate of Appropriateness) from the Historic District Commission, applicants must verify to the City Code Enforcement Officer that they have obtained all licenses and permits from all pertinent governmental agencies.
