Welcome

Welcome to the City of Leesville’s official website!  We are excited about using this site to communicate online with our citizens, businesses, and visitors. We are certain you will enjoy Leesville whether as a 'virtual visitor', tourist, resident, or business person. Leesville is the parish seat of Vernon Parish (County) and is a place where you can escape the hustle and bustle of big city life and enjoy the pleasures of living in a community where you will always find a warm welcome and old fashioned hospitality. We are very proud of our friendly, small town atmosphere and continue to preserve our unique cultural and historic heritage, while cultivating a dynamic economic environment. We know you will find the quality of life here to be exactly what you’re looking for. Recreational opportunities abound including a municipal golf course, parks, 6–screen cinema, bowling alley, skating rink, museum, tennis courts, and nearby lakes which offer some of the best fishing in the nation. Educational opportunities are excellent. Our students rank among the top of the state in several aptitude tests. We have a satellite branch of Northwestern State University and a Louisiana Technical College.

We have excellent medical facilities, shopping centers and restaurants, which offer many different types of cuisines.

We invite you to visit our remarkable City and its surroundings and encourage you to browse our new website and learn about the many possibilities that Leesville has to offer.

Home of Fort Polk & the JRTC

Leesville is proud to be the home of Fort Polk and the Joint Readiness Training Center. With more than 22,000 military members and their families, they provide us with a diverse and well-skilled population and they have always been great neighbors contributing to our work force, our schools and our community needs. Fort Polk is also the second largest employer in the state with a $1.5 billion economic impact on our state.
